Just received this from a friend and thought I would share with you.
Around the corner I have a friend,

Wouldn't you know it, projects are due!
SR and I were discussing the Civil War and her projects. She decided to write a one page paper on Harriet Tubman. I told her it was a good choice and that i had done a paper on her as well.
SR then goes, "You did?"
Me: Yep
SR: Do you still have it?
Me: NO! its in the trash, its compost, its disintegrated.. it no longer exists.
SR: Oh! :(
Me: Why?
SR (looks at me with a coy smile): Nothing
She is one crafty individual and is definitely looking for the easiest and fastest way to get her stuff done.... |

So it gets me laughing first, then i think... am I easy? I am a comfort to have around? I am their security blanket???
So I then go and tell a friend over IM the 'compliment' i just recieved and his response was:
[16:26] Friend: *pet pet* So in other words they like you because you are fairly easy? *ducks*
Which starts me laughing again. Its good to laugh at times like these. :-) |

feeling blue. not sure why... maybe its because I was nice and gave my co-worker / peer supervisor an opportunity to take a new position when I really wanted it. It is for a sub section of our group which will help launch the new tool we will all be using in the near future. I want/ wanted it.. but thought.. hey i am the new guy on the block... give the old guy an opporutnity..... so I said to my boss, yes i want it, but ask WF first. That was my mistake... do you guys think its a mistake? Let me know your thoughts.. |

OK. So here is a little background to have this make more sense. My Director takes a very active role and is very non-traditional. He makes comments on peoples shoes if he feels they are too younglooking or hippy-esque, or your tie is the wrong color scheme for him... He is an odd person, but we like him... so on to the story.
I am at work, and we got to wear jeans today. So I am walking along minding my own business when the swing shift supervisor walks in..... She is at least 10 years older than me. Has Bleached blonde hair that she spikes up, kinda... wears makeup "Tammy Faye Baker" lite and is wearing this short jean skirt with 2 layeres of white ruffles at the bottom. I almost die from containing the laughter and astonishment I am feeling at this sight walking ahead of me. How can she think this is work appropriate??? and to top it off, she is interviewing a new candidate for hire here at work. And what kind of impression will this leave with you???
So the other thing I noticed today is there are some programmers from Russia temporarily working in our office. Twice now, this one guy, has worn light colored slacks, light snake skin cowboy boots and dark underwear! The first time was boxers... today, briefs...
So its been an amusing clothing day here at the office.... |

I am in Atlanta this week. For work. It has been fun... as far as work can go. Any one have any ideas of what to do at night for fun? I will be going out to eat with a friend of Stodgycat's from high school tomorrow and was looking for ideas. |
